Young Buddist Association of Malaysian
Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) was founded on 29th July 1970 and was registered by the Registrar of Societies on 28th December 1970. On 19th December 1971, YBAM sent its delegates to attend the 1st International Youth Conference in Bangkok. In May 1972, YBAM was accepted to be a member organisation of the Majlis Belia Malaysia (Malaysia Youth Council). From 29th to 30th July 1972, the 1st National Biennial Convention was held and was decided to establish the secretariat in Penang. In 24th February 1973, the Malaysian Buddhist Examination Syndicate was formed with the collaboration of Malaysian Buddhist Association. The first examination was held in April 1974.
In the month of August 1973, YBAM was accepted as a regional centre of WFBY.
After the formation of the Third National Council, several national sub-committees were set up such as Coordination sub-committee, Finance sub-committee, Dharma propagation sub-committee, Education sub-committee, Welfare sub-committee and Publication sub-committee.
On 26th June 1979, Yayasan Belia Buddhist Malaysia (YBBM) was formed and was registered under Companies Act 1965. Its aim is to raise and manage a continuos fund to assist YBAM to run welfare, cultural, training, research, educational and religious activities.

To unite the Buddhist youth and to inspire them in cultivating wisdom, compassion and gratitude through our four main service areas of Dhamma propagation, education, culture and welfare.
